The Trammel’s Trace Rendezvous is pleased to invite your school or group to attend a Day of Learning to draw attention to the history and romance of the pre-1840’s way of life. The Living History Camp will demonstrate Camp Life and Military Activities.
RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED. There is a 50% non-refundable security deposit required at time of booking, by either check or credit card.

When: Friday, November 12, 2010
Time: Day of Learning will be 9:00 – 3:30. Each school/group attending will have a confirmed reservation as to what time to be at the Rendezvous.

Directions: From Hwy 59, take Hwy 49 East toward Downtown Jefferson. Left at Y in Road, Hwy 49 East toward Smithland. Park is one mile on the right.
Cost: $3.00 per student / Teachers and Bus Drivers FREE.
Program: Blacksmithing, tomahawk & knife throwing, primitive fire starting, tipi making, basket weaving, Dutch oven cooking, muzzle loading, making arrowheads, pottery, drums and many others.
What to Wear: Walking shoes and jeans. Depending on weather, a jacket may also be appropriate. You will be in a pasture.
What to Bring: Mosquito spray, suntan lotion, sun glasses, hat.
Trade Fair: Bring extra spending money – period vendors, crafters & artisans.
Train Ride: Add a narrated steam train ride on the Historic Jefferson Railway to your field trip. Add $4.00 per person. See information below.
Lunch facilities with clean port-a-potties Bring your own sack lunches. We have plenty of space for a meal. Concessions and beverages will be available at the Rendezvous.
Trammel’s Trace Rendezvous Brings History to Life The Rendezvous will feature a Day of Learning on Friday for educational groups, which will include a structured tour of Living History Demonstrations.
Mountain Men, Trappers and Indians get together on the bank of the Big Cypress Bayou to swap goods, tell stories and celebrate survival of another season.
The Rendezvous is a learning and teaching experience and is open to the public. Pre-1840’s living history camp, demonstrations, tomahawk & knife throwing, period vendors, crafters & artisans, buckskinners and Texas History Re-enactors.
Add a narrated steam train ride on the Historic Jefferson Railway to your field trip. The route skirts the Big Cypress Bayou for a five-mile, half hour round trip that will depart and return from the Rendezvous site. Along the way, passengers view the only remaining Confederate powder magazine from the civil war era, the first artificial gas plant in the state, as well as other historic sites.

Flexible scheduling options -
Start a day in Jefferson with a morning train ride, or have a pleasant afternoon trip. Time of departure is up to you.
Our open coaches can handle up to 200 students per train ride!

Train Pricing
Tiered pricing - The larger the group, the better the price.
Less than 40 students = $6 per ticket ($200 minimum)
40-74 students = $5 per ticket
75-99 = $4 per ticket
Above 100 = $3 per ticket
There is a 50% security deposit required at time of booking.
